🇧🇷 Como calcular custo de vida numa outra cidade

Alguns sites apresentam informações aproximadas de custo de vida em diferentes cidades em todo o mundo. Este texto visa te orientar para calcular o seu custo de vida quando resolve viver em outra cidade ou país. Isso porque o custo de vida varia conforme seu estilo de vida.

Você deve pesquisar, sobre o local onde deseja viver:

• Custo de moradia. Aluguel, condomínio, e outras taxas referentes à moradia. Também energia, internet e telefone.
• Custos de alimentação. Custo de uma refeição completa em restaurante é uma base inicial. Claro que se você cozinha em casa seu custo será menor, mas um turista pode facilmente ter uma noção de preços de bons restaurantes pra calcular o gasto mensal se alimentando dessa forma, mas será mais difícil calcular o preço de uma feira completa antes de morar naquele lugar. Calcular com base em preços de restaurantes que você considere bons tem a vantagem de, após a mudança, te permitir ter um pequeno excedente de capital se optar por fazer sua própria comida.
• Custos de transporte. Sejam os custos de transporte público ou custos para ter e manter um automóvel.
• Custos com taxas e impostos.
• Custos de lazer. Aqui você exclui a opção de jantar fora porque já faz parte do cálculo de alimentação. Mas inclui custos em bares, cinema, viagens, teatro, museus, clubes, práticas esportivas, etc.
• Custos de serviços. Aqui depende de quais serviços utiliza. Pense em bancos, cursos, assinaturas (de TV, revistas, etc), saúde, serviços pessoais (stylist, motorista, massagista, esteticista, cabeleireiro, governanta, cozinheiro, etc), etc que não tenham sido inclusos nas outras categorias.
• Outros custos. Pense nos custos que você tem hoje e não se enquadram nas categorias acima. Por exemplo: eu tenho gatos. Devo incluir os custos com eles no meu planejamento.

🇬🇧 Tour in Curitiba

Today I'm going to talk a little bit about tourism, because this pandemic made me talk less about it for a long time, but now a lot of people can travel, so let's go!

I'll start by talking about the must-see points to visit in Curitiba, in southern Brazil.

Curitiba is a city with almost two million inhabitants, and leaving São Paulo by plane you can reach the city in about an hour.

The city is full of parks that are worth a walk, a picnic, a walk with your pet. My favourites are Parque Tanguá and Parque Barigui. But there are several others. The Botanical Garden, the city's postcard, is also a good place for these activities. It's very beautiful and makes nice pictures. The Japan Square, which is in the region where some of the best hotels in the city are located, is also a beautiful place for photos.

In Curitiba it rains a lot. So it is recommended to have closed places in the script.

There are several museums in the city, the most famous being the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, also known as the eye museum. The famous architect Niemeyer designed the main building of the museum, like an araucaria, a type of pine common in the region, stylised, but people call it the eye museum because the shape also resembles that of an eye. The Guido Viaro museum, in addition to works of art, also has a weekly meeting to debate films, usually old ones. They post the schedule on the museum's Facebook page. In the center, there is the contemporary art museum, which is good for a quick visit, as it is a small museum, like the Guido Viaro.  And there are several others.

If the museum's films interested you, the Cinemateca de Curitiba, before the pandemic, also had a program of cult films, international film festivals, etc. Sesc Paço da Liberdade also has a cultural program. In it you need to register.

For an overview of the city, I recommend the panoramic tower. You can see the city from above and on the floor there is a map of the city in bas-relief. It's also a quick visit. It is very close to Barigui Park.

Another postcard of the city and stage of some shows is the Ópera de Arame. Don't wear thin heels to go there, as the access is via a bridge where your heel can get stuck. Right next door is the Paulo Leminski quarry, which has hosted concerts by great artists, such as the band Iron Maiden.

Another cultural reference in the city is the Guaíra theater, where concerts, theater performances and an opera festival take place. It's a very beautiful space.

In open spaces, pets are welcome. Public transport, as far as I know, does not accept the transport of animals, but tourists can use transport apps to walk their pet around the city, create itineraries that can be done on foot or on roller skates, or rent a car (I never rented one car to walk with a pet, but I suppose it is possible). If pet friendly companies in Curitiba are interested in going through our evaluation, the magazine is available to check the pros and cons of each one according to our criteria and disclose it to our readers.

Hoje vou falar um pouco de turismo, porque essa pandemia me fez falar menos disso por muito tempo, mas agora muita gente já pode viajar, então, vamos!

Vou começar falando dos pontos imperdíveis para visitar em Curitiba, no sul do Brasil.

Curitiba é uma cidade com quase dois milhões de habitantes, e partindo de São Paulo de avião você chega à cidade em cerca de uma hora.

A cidade é repleta de parques que valem um passeio, um piquenique, uma caminhada com seu pet. Meus preferidos são o parque Tanguá e o parque Barigui. Mas tem vários outros. O Jardim Botânico, cartão postal da cidade, também é um bom lugar para essas atividades. É muito bonito e rende fotos bacanas. A praça do Japão, que fica na região onde estão alguns dos melhores hotéis da cidade, também é um lugar bonito para fotos.

Em Curitiba chove muito. Então é recomendável ter no roteiro lugares fechados.

Existem vários museus na cidade, sendo o mais famoso o Museu Oscar Niemeyer, também conhecido como museu do olho. O famoso arquiteto Niemeyer desenhou o prédio principal do museu, como uma araucária, um tipo de pinheiro comum na região, estilizada, mas as pessoas chamam de museu do olho porque o formato também lembra o de um olho. O museu Guido Viaro, além de obras de arte, também tem uma reunião semanal para debater filmes, geralmente antigos. Eles divulgam a programação na página do museu no Facebook. No centro, tem o museu de arte contemporânea, que é bom para uma visita rápida, pois é um museu pequeno, como o Guido Viaro. E tem vários outros.

Se os filmes do museu te interessaram, a Cinemateca de Curitiba, antes da pandemia, também tinha uma programação com filmes cult, festivais de filmes internacionais, etc. O Sesc Paço da Liberdade também tem uma programação cultural. Nele você precisa fazer um cadastro.

Para uma visão geral da cidade, recomendo a torre panorâmica. Dá para ver a cidade de cima e no piso tem um mapa da cidade em baixo relevo. Também é uma visita rápida. Fica bem perto do parque Barigui.

Outro cartão postal da cidade e palco de alguns espetáculos é a Ópera de Arame. Não use saltos finos para ir lá, pois o acesso é por uma ponte onde seu salto pode ficar preso. Bem ao lado fica a pedreira Paulo Leminski, que já recebeu shows de grandes artistas, como a banda Iron Maiden.

Outra referência cultural da cidade é o teatro Guaíra, onde acontecem shows, espetáculos de teatro e também um festival de ópera. É um espaço muito bonito.

Nos espaços abertos os animais de estimação são bem-vindos. O transporte público, que eu saiba não aceita o transporte de animais, mas o turista pode usar aplicativos de transporte para passear com seu pet pela cidade, criar roteiros que possam ser feitos a pé ou de patins, ou alugar um carro (nunca aluguei um carro pra passear com pet, mas suponho que seja possível). There are many countries that offer visas for at least one category of entrepreneur. What I call categories are: self-employed professionals, startups, innovative companies or companies in general.

Entrepreneurship is an opportunity to move to another country, develop something that contributes to economic growth, generate jobs, make dreams come true.

Entrepreneurship abroad can also be an opportunity to live legally in another country, get closer to a different culture, be in a country where the type of business you want has a better structure to develop, pay less taxes, pay more taxes and receive more benefits, cultural enrichment, learning a new language, and many other advantages.

Empreender é uma oportunidade de mudar de país, desenvolver algo que contribua com o crescimento econômico, gerar empregos, realizar sonhos.

Empreender no exterior também pode ser uma oportunidade de viver legalmente em outro país, se aproximar de uma cultura diferente, estar num país onde o tipo de negócio que você quer tenha uma estrutura melhor para se desenvolver, pagar menos impostos, pagar mais impostos e receber mais benefícios, enriquecer-se culturalmente, aprender um novo idioma, e muitas outras vantagens.

🇬🇧 Missing food

Sometimes we move from city or country and miss eating something typical of where we were born or where we used to live. What to do?

In some cases it is possible to find restaurants that serve what you are looking for. In others, no. If you don't find it, or don't have the budget to eat in a restaurant, you can choose to prepare what you want at home. A little skill and a good recipe, which you can find on the internet, in a family cookbook or a book by a famous chef, are what you need in principle.

In some cases it will be possible to find the ingredients to prepare those delicacies locally, but in other cases this will not be possible. If you can't find the ingredients, you can adapt the recipe and make it with local ingredients if you have some cooking experience. If you don't have this talent for adapting the recipe, I have one last and precious option.

The last tip is to take advantage of the options available in your current home, without homesickness. And you don't even need to be out of options to do this. You can do having options. You can discover much tastier things by allowing yourself to try something you don't know. Do you know when a person is a teenager and the first date ends, that usually at least one of the two is thinking that the world is going to end? That's right... you can survive and even find a new meaning in life when moving to another country or city in body and mind, with a willingness to get to know that culture, the local cuisine and many others available there.

Às vezes a gente muda de cidade ou país e sente falta de comer algo típico de onde nascemos ou onde vivíamos. O que fazer?

Em alguns casos é possível achar restaurantes que sirvam o que você busca. Em outros, não. Se não achar, ou não tiver orçamento para comer em restaurante, pode optar por preparar o que deseja em casa. Um pouco de habilidade e uma boa receita, que você pode achar na internet, num livro de receitas de família ou num livro de um chef famoso, são o que você precisa em princípio.

Em alguns casos será possível achar no local os ingredientes para preparar aquelas delícias, mas em outros casos isso não será possível. Se não achar os ingredientes, pode adaptar a receita e fazer com ingredientes locais se tiver alguma experiência na cozinha. Se você não tem esse talento para adaptar a receita, tenho uma última e preciosa opção.

A última dica é você aproveitar as opções disponíveis no seu lar atual, sem saudosismo. E você nem precisa estar sem opções pra fazer isso. Pode fazer tendo opções. Você pode descobrir coisas muito mais saborosas ao se permitir experimentar algo que não conhece. Sabe quando uma pessoa é adolescente e o primeiro namoro termina, que geralmente ao menos um dos dois fica achando que o mundo vai acabar? Pois é... você pode sobreviver e até achar um novo significado para a vida ao mudar pra outro país ou cidade de corpo e mente, com disposição para conhecer aquela cultura, a gastronomia local e outras tantas disponíveis por lá.

🇬🇧 Challenges of moving to a different city or country

Many people spend their lives in the same city. Sometimes in the same neighbourhood. Most of them never thought about seriously analysing the possibility of doing business abroad. And even among those who leave their hometown to study, many return. In the meantime you and I think about our next move, where we want to go, and reflect on the possible challenges of doing that. It is about them - the challenges of moving to another city or country - that we are talking about today. Because many fears we have before changing don't materialise, but being reasonably prepared to live in challenging situations doesn't do any harm, unless it leaves you stuck, without the courage to leave where you are.

The main challenge is to deal with people who are not part of their current social circles, people from different cultures and different trajectories. On the internet it's easy to block anyone who disagrees with you on something, keeping in touch only with those who say what you want to hear, but in real life a cultural nomad, digital nomad or even a student going to college in a different city must live and  deal with different people. I think this is great, we grow a lot, broaden our horizons. But a lot of people don't like it. You can anticipate this situation on the internet yourself, although the most popular social networks these days are not as good for this purpose as some of their predecessors. There is another challenge that can also be complicated for people with a fixed mindset, who leave their place of origin but their place of origin does not leave them, which is gastronomy.  And it's not just for those who move from country to country. Some will try to maintain their previous eating habits, others will want to taste the flavours of their new home. You can work on this challenge by searching for food recipes from other countries and regions on the internet and preparing them at home, or by going to different restaurants of cuisines from other countries that you haven't visited before.

Weather is another challenge for some. Getting from a very hot to a very cold place or vice versa can be challenging. But the body adapts, as long as you try to dress appropriately for the local climate.

Fear of the new. Will it be a challenge? Those who are afraid of the new do not enjoy the best of the nomadic life. Only your body leaves its place of origin, when it leaves. The head gets stuck there, in old beliefs, in old habits, even in old friends, without opening up to new friendships.

For entrepreneurs, there are also challenges such as quality standards. If you think about your company's target audience based on the profile of people from your hometown and their social class, you can discover, for example, that in another country that standard is lower than that of people who would be considered that social class there, both by quality of raw material and by labor profile. In some countries it can be very difficult to find someone who works for excellence.

The challenge of finding suppliers is part of the life of any entrepreneur and for those who have a broad market vision and know competitors who operate in demanding markets it can be very easy to overcome, and also minimise the challenge of quality standards by choosing to establish your company and manufacture your products in places where the quality in everything is more natural. In a world where some countries disrespect human dignity to have cheap labor, trying to compete for low prices is a suicidal strategy.

🇧🇷 Desafios de mudar de cidade ou país

Muitas pessoas passam a vida na mesma cidade. Às vezes no mesmo bairro. A maioria nunca pensou em analisar seriamente a possibilidade de empreender no exterior. E mesmo entre os que saem de sua cidade natal para estudar, muitos retornam. Enquanto isso eu e você pensamos em nossa próxima mudança, em para onde queremos ir, e refletimos sobre os possíveis desafios de fazer isso. É sobre eles - os desafios de mudar de cidade ou de país - que falamos hoje. Porque muitos medos que temos antes de mudar não se concretizam, mas estar razoavelmente preparado para viver situações desafiadoras não faz mal algum, a menos que te deixe travado, sem coragem de sair de onde está.

O principal desafio é lidar com gente que não faz parte dos seus círculos sociais atuais, gente de culturas diferentes e diferentes trajetórias. Na internet é fácil bloquear qualquer pessoa que discorde de você em algo, mantendo contato só com quem diz o que você quer ouvir, mas na vida real de um nômade cultural, nômade digital ou mesmo do estudante que vai cursar uma faculdade numa cidade diferente é necessário conviver com gente diferente. Eu acho isso ótimo, a gente cresce muito, amplia os horizontes. Mas muita gente não gosta. Você pode antecipar essa situação na internet mesmo, embora as redes sociais mais populares atualmente não sejam tão boas para este fim como algumas de suas antecessoras. Tem outro desafio que também pode ser complicado para pessoas de mentalidade fixa, que saem de seu local de origem mas o local de origem não sai delas, que é a gastronomia. E não é só para quem muda de país. Alguns vão procurar manter os hábitos alimentares de antes, outros vão querer provar os sabores de seu novo lar. Você pode trabalhar esse desafio buscando receitas de comidas de outros países e outras regiões na internet e preparando em casa, ou indo a restaurantes diferentes, de culinárias de outros países, que você ainda não tenha visitado.

O clima é outro desafio para alguns. Sair de um lugar muito quente para um muito frio ou vice versa pode ser desafiador. Mas o corpo se adapta, desde que você busque vestir-se de forma apropriada para o clima local.

Medo do novo. Será um desafio? Quem tem medo do novo não desfruta o melhor da vida nômade. Apenas seu corpo sai do lugar de origem, quando sai. A cabeça fica presa lá, nas velhas crenças, nos velhos hábitos, até nos velhos amigos, sem criar abertura para novas amizades.

Para empreendedores, também existem desafios como os padrões de qualidade. Se você pensa no público-alvo de sua empresa com base no perfil de pessoas de sua cidade natal e sua classe social, pode descobrir, por exemplo, que, num outro país aquele padrão é inferior ao de pessoas que ali seriam consideradas daquela classe social, tanto por qualidade de matéria prima como por perfil da mão de obra. Em alguns países pode ser muito difícil achar quem trabalhe buscando a excelência.

O desafio de encontrar fornecedores faz parte da vida de qualquer empreendedor e para aqueles que têm uma visão de mercado ampla e conhecem concorrentes que atuam em mercados exigentes pode ser bem fácil vencê-lo, e também minimizar o desafio do padrão de qualidade optando por estabelecer sua empresa e fabricar seus produtos em lugares onde a qualidade em tudo seja mais natural. Num mundo onde alguns países desrespeitam a dignidade humana para ter mão de obra barata, tentar competir por baixo preço é uma estratégia suicida.

🇬🇧 About tourism and the social and economic power of this industry

I am Brazilian, I was born in a city with around three hundred thousand inhabitants but which is not a tourist destination. Today I live in a city with just under two million inhabitants in the south of my country, which is also not a famous city as a tourist destination for foreigners.

I see many benefits in encouraging tourism. I think it's an industry that can change the reality of some cities in this world. Why? I have four main reasons:

1. I believe that with tourism, local businesses have to improve their products and services in order to please people with a higher level of need than local citizens. As they improve, they can sell their products and services abroad, open stores in other cities and different countries, export their products, and so on. Yes, tourism can help other local industries and shops.
2. Tourism can attract money from people all over the world, so that a city is not dependent on the money of the people who were born in it.
3. With tourism, a city can attract people from other places who want to live there, start a business or work on their own.
4. Learning is, in my view, a life mission that we must all embrace. And having different references helps a lot to learn. Especially if those references are of a higher standard than the one we have. Lowering our standard for something is violence against ourselves. And keeping a standard for life doesn't help anyone learn.

This text was originally written in Italian in 2019 because, in my opinion, Italy is the richest country in the world in terms of tourism. I don't think it's an accident that some of the most important luxury companies in the world are Italian.

But everything has a positive and a negative side to this life and excellent places need to know how to deal with people of low professional level who seek a kind of paradise in these places. This happens mainly in larger cities, but smaller cities can also have people in this situation. What can be done to reduce the number of people living on the streets? And to reduce the number of low-skilled workers?

We know that artificial intelligence is a reality. Many things that men do, in 2030 maybe they can be done by machines. How to prepare people for this?

Nowadays, to live in the city, we must always study and learn. This digital world where technology has become very important demands this lifestyle. People too lazy to study and learn have nothing to do in cities that encourage economic growth.

Companies that don't offer anything special are of little value to people who have this need to learn all the time.

🇧🇷 Sobre o turismo e o poder social e econômico desta indústria

Sou brasileira, nasci em uma cidade com cerca de trezentos mil habitantes mas que não é um destino turístico. Hoje moro em uma cidade com pouco menos de dois milhões de habitantes no sul do meu país que também não é uma cidade famosa como destino turístico de estrangeiros.

Vejo muitos benefícios em incentivar o turismo. Acho que é uma indústria que pode mudar a realidade de algumas cidades desse mundo. Por que? Tenho quatro razões principais:

1. Acredito que com o turismo, o comércio local tem que melhorar seus produtos e serviços de forma a agradar as pessoas com um nível de necessidade maior do que o dos cidadãos locais. Ao melhorar, eles podem vender seus produtos e serviços fora, abrir lojas em outras cidades e países diferentes, exportar seus produtos e assim por diante. Sim, o turismo pode ajudar outras indústrias e lojas locais.
2. O turismo pode atrair dinheiro de pessoas de todo o mundo, para que uma cidade não fique dependente do dinheiro das pessoas que nela nasceram.
3. Com o turismo, uma cidade pode atrair pessoas de outros lugares que queiram morar ali, abrir uma empresa ou trabalhar por conta própria.
4. Aprender é, a meu ver, uma missão de vida que todos devemos abraçar. E ter referências diferentes ajuda muito a aprender.  Especialmente se essas referências tiverem um padrão mais alto do que o que temos. Abaixar nosso padrão para algo é violência contra nós mesmos. E manter um padrão por toda a vida não ajuda ninguém a aprender.

Este texto foi originalmente escrito em italiano em 2019 porque, a meu ver, a Itália é o país mais rico do mundo em turismo. Não creio que seja por acaso que algumas das empresas de luxo mais importantes do mundo sejam italianas.

Mas tudo tem um lado positivo e um negativo nessa vida e lugares excelentes precisam saber como lidar com as pessoas de baixo nível profissional que procuram uma espécie de paraíso nesses lugares. Isso acontece principalmente em cidades maiores, mas cidades menores também podem ter pessoas nessa situação. O que fazer para diminuir o número de pessoas que vivem nas ruas? E para diminuir o número de trabalhadores de baixa qualificação?

Sabemos que a inteligência artificial é uma realidade. Muitas coisas que os homens fazem, em 2030 talvez possam ser feitas pelas máquinas.  Como preparar as pessoas para isso?

Hoje em dia para morar na cidade devemos sempre estudar e aprender. Este mundo digital onde a tecnologia se tornou muito importante exige esse estilo de vida. Pessoas com preguiça de estudar e aprender não têm nada para fazer em cidades que incentivem o crescimento econômico.

As empresas que não oferecem nada de especial não têm muito valor para as pessoas que têm essa necessidade de aprender o tempo todo.
