🇧🇷 Caçadores de obras primas

Para mim, arte e cultura sempre foram valores essenciais. Durante essa pandemia global (coronavírus), vejo a importância desses elementos em nossas vidas diárias muito mais forte. Observe quantas lives de seus artistas favoritos e quantas séries e filmes você assistiu, quanto tempo você gasta jogando videogame, as oportunidades de visitas virtuais a museus e destinos turísticos e assim por diante.

Hoje eu gostaria de falar sobre "The monuments men" (Caçadores de obras primas), um filme dirigido por George Clooney e cheio de estrelas em seu elenco. O filme é sobre um grupo que, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, teve a missão de encontrar e salvar obras de arte que os nazistas estavam roubando para destruir.

O filme mostra como a arte é importante para nossa cultura e história. No começo, o personagem Frank Stokes (Clooney) diz que nenhuma obra de arte vale a vida de um homem. Durante a operação, ele muda de idéia e essa mudança para mim é a parte mais importante do filme.

O elenco é fantástico, a história é interessante, especialmente por ver a guerra de um ponto de vista diferente, colocando o valor da arte para a nossa história como um ponto crucial. O filme não é novo, foi lançado em 2014, mas só recentemente tive a oportunidade de assisti-lo. O filme é tocante, sensível, sagaz e digno de duas horas do nosso tempo para saber um pouco sobre algo que realmente aconteceu, através das lentes do cinema.

Eu li críticas negativas sobre o filme, mas principalmente de pessoas que são incapazes de entender a importância da arte em nossas vidas e talvez essas pessoas estivessem esperando um filme de guerra normal, cheio de sangue. Este é um filme mais cheio de inteligência e sensibilidade, é mais sobre estratégia e intuição do que batalhas. E isso acontece cheio de homens na tela, apenas Cate Blanchet como aparência feminina.

Preciso antecipar um detalhe e não acho que seja um spoiler, mas você pode parar de ler agora, se preferir.

A última cena mostra Stokes mais velho com uma criança. Assistindo ao filme, eu pude entender que era um dos personagens principais, mas embora o "ator" seja o pai de Clooney, Nick Clooney, eu apenas identifiquei que era Stokes com certeza depois de ler o elenco completo em algum lugar, depois de assistir ao filme. Bem, eu não sabia nada sobre Nick Clooney até aquela leitura.  Possivelmente para pessoas dos EUA, isso é óbvio. Mas eu nasci no Brasil, George Clooney é moreno e a pele de seu pai é branca. Mas esse foi o único momento confuso pra mim, e não comprometeu o filme.

For me, art and culture always were essential values. During this global pandemic (coronavirus) I see the importance of these elements in our daily lives much stronger. Observe how many lives of your favourite artists and how many series and films you watched, how much time you’re spending playing video games, the opportunities of virtual visits to museums and touristic destinations and so on.

Today I’d like to talk about “The monuments men”, a movie directed by George Clooney and full of stars on its cast. The movie is about a group that, during the second world war had the mission to find and saves pieces of art that the Nazis were stealing to destroy.

The movie shows how important art is for our culture and history. In the beginning, the character Frank Stokes (Clooney) says no piece of art is worth the life of a man. During the operation he changes his mind and this change for me is the most important part of the movie.

The cast is fantastic, the story is interesting, specially for seeing war from a different point of view, putting the value of art for our history as a crucial point. The movie is not new, it was launched on 2014, but only recently I had the opportunity to watch it. The movie is touching, sensible, sagacious and worthy two hours of our time to know a bit about something that really happened, through the lenses of cinema.

I read negative criticism about the movie but mostly from people who are unable to understand the importance of art in our lives and maybe these people were expecting a normal war movie full of blood. This is a movie more full of brain and sensibility, it’s more about strategy and intuition than battles. And it happens full of men on screen, only Cate Blanchet as feminine appearance.

There’s one detail I must anticipate and I don’t think is a spoiler, but you’re free to stop reading now if you prefer.

The last scene, shows older Stokes with a child. Watching the movie I could understand it was one of the main characters, but although the “actor” is Clooney’s father, Nick Clooney, I only identified it was Stokes for sure after reading the full cast somewhere, after to watch the movie. 😁 Well, I didn’t know anything about Nick Clooney up to that reading. Possibly for people from the USA this is obvious. But I was born in Brazil, George Clooney is brunette and his father’s skin is white. But this was the only confused moment for me watching this, and it didn’t compromise the movie.
