🇬🇧 My first experiences on cultural trips

First time I spent (or invested) my money to travel it was to know the Carnival in Janauba, a small brazilian city, a few hours by car from Montes Claros, where I was born. I was 21 then, and my dear friend and colleague Danilo was from that city. Brazilian actor Jackson Antunes, who was called "the brazilian Charles Bronson" when he gained space on national TV, was also born in Janauba. I remember my grandmother was terrified because my brother, 5 years younger, would travel with me and share the same room. If I had the mind of today, I would go alone just to terrify her more. The party was good. Very different from many famous carnivals as Rio, Salvador or Venice, but it was nice. My second experience was to follow brazilian band Shaman, when Andre Mattos left Angra to sing with this band, during the first shows of the Ritual tour. 🇬🇧 Cultural nomadism - a lifestyle

We can move from a place to another for various reasons. One of them is to know better other cultures, to become a global citizen. Other is also cultural, when you move from a place with very limited cultural options to another with more resources on the matter. I experienced both. Culture was and is my fuel. I was born in a middle-sized city in Brazil, called Montes Claros. Once I read a quote from Plato about global citizenship and I desired to be a global citizen. I loved to read, to listen to some music and to see movies - the cultural options more accessible in that city. Some months after I move to Uberlândia - other middle-sized city, bigger than Montes Claros -, I started using the internet. It was 1999. Through Napster (do you remember it?) I discovered music (and advertising videos) from the whole world! I had a teacher who worked renting movies, that time, and she had movies which were not american blockbusters. Can you imagine my happiness walking through those corridors ...

What is a plus size model? I'm Nycka Nunes, digital and cultural nomad, and I work as a visual artist, fine art photographer and stylist, in addition to creating content on several platforms (this blog and social networks. Links in the sidebar). I have been working in the fashion industry since childhood. In this text I will talk specifically about plus size models. Plus size is NOT necessarily a fat person. For example, I've always been skinny and my hips measure 102 cm. If I were a model, with that hip measurement I would be a plus size model. Plus size is a person that we can more clearly identify the physical type, if we compare two people with the same hip measurement, for example. Just look at the person and we have a clear notion of the physical type, which is almost always confirmed when we take their measurements. ¿Qué es un modelo plus size? Soy Nycka Nunes, nómada digital y cultural, y trabajo como artista visual, fotógrafa fine art y stylist, además de crear contenido en varias plataformas (este blog y redes sociales. Links en la barra lateral). He estado trabajando en la industria de la moda desde la infancia. En este texto hablaré específicamente sobre las modelos de tallas grandes (plus size). Plus size NO es necesariamente una persona gorda. Por ejemplo, siempre he sido flaca y mis caderas miden 102 cm. Si yo fuera modelo, con esa medida de cadera sería una modelo plus size. Plus size es una persona que podemos identificar más claramente el tipo físico, si comparamos a dos personas con la misma medida de cadera, por ejemplo. Basta mirar a la persona y tenemos una noción clara del tipo físico, que casi siempre se confirma cuando tomamos sus medidas. Entre los modelos tradicionales es más difícil identificar esto.
