🇬🇧 About grief

This is a text about grief . Grief doesn't exist just for someone's death. It is a process that can happen in many different situations. I'm Nycka, I'm a stylist, visual artist and photographer. In this blog and in my profiles on social networks, I talk about different subjects, many of them not related to my work. On social networks, I publish notices about posts here on the blog and also exclusive content. On Spotify I have a playlist only with songs to deal with grief, and I've been adding new songs to this playlist and the many others I have on that platform as I remember songs I've known for a long time and also as I discover new ones. In addition to death, in what situations can we experience grief? Some situations that I notice are: End of a friendship; end of a romantic relationship; quitting a job, especially when you are fired; moving to another city (you may feel emptied by the new experience, not knowing anyone in the new city, and not having yo...

🇬🇧 Twelve signs that you should hire a stylist

Here are twelve signs that you should hire a stylist to take care of your appearance. You are a successful professional in your field (and that includes entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals). Above-average professionals deserve to have an above-average personal image. You like to wear quality clothes and accessories, you prefer jewellery to semi jewellery, but you don't know many brands other than the most famous ones. It would certainly be a benefit to have access to a wider range of peer brands to build your own style. You grew up with the habit of buying clothes just to cover your body, being discouraged from consuming clothes with a different design, but you have this desire, you have the money to invest in it and you don't know how to fulfill this desire without looking ridiculous or tacky. You have moved (or are about to move) to a different place from where you grew up and want to dress more stylishly and adapt your personal style to your new lifestyle. Yo...

🇬🇧 How to get to know the neighbours of your new home

So you've moved to a new city. Maybe a new country. Alone. And now you want to meet people, your neighbours. How to do it? If you move in with someone who already lives in the city, they usually already know the neighbours and you will naturally end up getting to know them too. If you've moved to live alone, this text has a few options for how to approach it. You need to evaluate the local culture and even the neighbourhood profile to see which options might work best. If you have dogs, the tendency is that, when walking your dogs, you will find other neighbours walking their dogs, and you can use these situations to start conversations. Compliments to the dog, or asking for a veterinarian's recommendation, brand of dog food (if you are in another country), etc are options for starting a conversation. Over time, you establish some connections with these neighbours and the topics of conversation are expanded. If you don't have dogs... eventually cat hair on your cloth...

🇬🇧 Restaurants in non-touristy places

Have you noticed that in many cities the options available at local restaurants are very limited? Several cities, especially those that do not give importance to tourism and are not capitals, economic centres, have little variety in terms of gastronomy, have few or no foreign cuisine restaurants, and creative or contemporary gastronomy options are even rarer. From what I observed in the places where I lived, in the trips and research I did, this happens for two main reasons: For accommodation of the local population. When people from a place do not usually travel and get used to the local cuisine as if it were the best in the world without knowing other options. No one in that environment is dedicated to studying cuisines from other parts of the world, let alone opening a restaurant that is different from the options that already exist in the local market, be it foreign cuisine or contemporary/creative cuisine with local ingredients. For not attracting immigrants linked to gastron...

🇬🇧 How to plan a relocation

Once you already have in mind where you want to live, it's time to start planning the move to know what needs to be done to make the dream come true. When planning to move to another city or country, it is important to research: Neighbourhoods in the city where you want to live that suit your needs and expectations. Anyone who is used to living in a neighbourhood where you can walk to the supermarket may not feel comfortable in a completely residential neighbourhood. If you have school-age children, having schools close to home can be important. If you know what your needs and expectations are, you know what characteristics the neighbourhoods you are going to consider living in should have. Property features that meet your needs and expectations. What are your needs and expectations regarding the property where you will live? Do you prefer furnished property or buy the furniture and decorate it yourself so the place reflects your identity? Do you prefer house or apartment? Need...

🇬🇧 Turning the dream of living elsewhere into a goal

Planning to move to another city or country takes a few steps. In this text I will ask some questions that we must answer before turning the dream of moving to another city into a goal. Where do you want to go? (If you just want to get out of where you are, to almost anywhere, the chances of frustration are high). What reasons do you have to go? Remember the part of the Alice in Wonderland story where the cat explains to the girl that if she doesn't know where she wants to go, she just wants to get out of where she is, any path will lead her to the goal. Note that this does not mean that any path is good. Adult and emotionally mature people, as I assume you are, learn from mistakes and bad experiences and build their references from there. What do you already know about what you want and what you don't want in your life? What kind of life do you want to build in your next destination and how does it help you to build that life? If you are moving to another country for any ...

This site has texts with opportunities in other countries and if you follow my profiles on social networks you will have more information of this type, and other information of interest to those who, like you and me, consider the world as home. One of the options for investors is to seek information on companies that are being privatised in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as these are opportunities open to both citizens and foreigners. Furthermore, the country offers interesting opportunities in the following sectors. Agriculture and food processing : The agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina offers enormous opportunities for potential investors, based on the following main advantages: Abundance of agricultural land - about 50% of agricultural land is uncultivated. Favourable weather conditions. Availability of skilled and cheap labor and a long tradit...

🇬🇧 How an immigrant should dress

When we move to another city or country, the way people in our new home often dress is different than in the previous city. Even in the small details these differences usually exist. If you are moving to Africa or Asia or from one of these continents to the American continent or Europe, expect even greater differences. I don't know how much the native peoples of Oceania adopt Westernized clothes. In Australia and New Zealand, as far as I know, it is quite common to adopt Western clothing, but in other countries on the continent I don't know how they dress. At least in big countries like Brazil, the differences in the way of dressing between different cities are very evident. Perhaps in small countries where it is common to have relevant cultural events everywhere and traveling to other cities is fast and accessible, this profile is different. I haven't done that kind of analysis yet. But in Brazil, about twelve years ago, I observed how badly the men of Curitiba dressed, a...
