🇬🇧 My perfect pet-friendly hotel

My ideal pet friendly hotel has the following characteristics:

• It has a team that appreciates cats and dogs, knows how to treat them well and is well prepared.
• Have "do not disturb" signs and staff respecting them hang on the door handle so that they do not open the room when the guardian does not want to be disturbed or when the animal is alone. I left these "do not disturb" signs on a hotel door once and was woken up by the room maid trying to open the door, ignoring the sign!
• Allow cats and dogs with no restrictions on their size, time alone in the room or how many pets are in the room. The tutor knows how much space the animals need. I already had 3 cats and a dog in a 37 sqm apartment. A neighbour I had was raising a golden retriever in a slightly smaller apartment in the same building. Every pet owner knows what their pet needs.
• Allow animals to stay in the room with their guardian, but also have a separate kennel, so that they can interact with other animals housed in the place if the guardians wish and if the animal is used to a house with a courtyard, for example .
• Have scrapers, sandboxes (and sand to fill them in), pots for water and food, and pet beds.
• Carry out cleaning without restrictions. It is easier and friendlier for maids to vacuum apartments, removing hair, than to ban an animal from using sheets and towels which will hopefully be washed and sanitised before the next guest uses them.
• Offer the owner a shovel, plastic bags, cleaning cloths, toilet sand, and odour eliminator (or white vinegar mixed with baking soda) to clean dog litter or cat litter. Replenish these products daily with quantities appropriate to the needs of the four-legged guest.
• Having contact with good pet shops that sell pet food in small portions, with delivery service to the hotel.
• Encourage nearby businesses to accept animals, so that their 4-legged guests can walk more freely with their guardians.
• Have contacts from veterinary clinics and hospitals as well as pet sitters if tutors need these services.
• Do its best to make traveling with the pet a pleasure for the tutor and the animals.
• Shielded windows with 5 screen or less space between nodes. It doesn't even have to be all over the hotel. Create a cat-themed floor, as some hotels have non-smoking floors and include screens in all windows of this floor and spaces for a cat to go out into.

Two drag queens, Anthony / Mitzi and Adam / Felicia, and a transsexual, Bernadette, are hired to perform in a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort town in the remote Australian desert. They travel aboard their bus, Priscilla.  Along the way they discover that the woman who hired them is Anthony's wife.  The bus breaks down and is repaired by Bob, who starts traveling with them.

7. Threesome. Movie launched in 1994. Due to a computer error, a young woman is taken to the male dormitory of the university, where she will share a room with two guys and together they will form an unexpected love triangle, thus begins the story of Eddy, Alex and Stuart. 🇬🇧 Advantages of knowing how to dialogue

One of the qualities needed by nomads, which facilitates the adaptation process, and which should be a quality cultivated by any human being in the Internet age, is knowing how to dialogue.

Thinking about it, I remembered a situation I lived in at the end of the last century.

I was still studying English, lived in the second city in my nomadic history, was about 21 years old and used mIRC (dinosaurs will understand, but then it was something like WhatsApp nowadays). I made friends with a Muslim girl from a country I don't remember on a channel (group) about London. One day the girl asked me what was the typical Brazilian food. I didn't have enough English to explain that Brazil is a country with continental dimensions and each region has different typical foods. I chose the easy way out. “The most famous typical food in Brazil is feijoada” (I spoke the name in Portuguese, the rest in English as I did here) “which is a dish made with pieces of pork and beans”.

Perhaps some of you who are or have Muslim friends can imagine the girl's reaction.  😅

Total silence.

And the silence lasted a long time.

When the silence was much longer than usual, I asked what had happened.

Then she replied that Muslims do not eat pork. And she also explained the reason in detail, but it was in the last century, I don't remember. I remember enough not to make the mistake of talking about pork to Muslims, much less serving them pork.

I calmed the girl down and said that there are many typical dishes around here and many of them don't use pork. I also explained that I don't like feijoada (which is true). I must have mentioned the shrimp bobó that was my favourite dish (until I discovered the acarajé). And the prose changed course, that black cloud of “heretics Brazilian who eat pigs” left the air.

Dialogue only exists when both people know how to listen and establish boundaries. Listen is different from hear. Hear is to perceive sounds. Listen is understanding. It is knowing the individual and respecting him as a unique human being, rather than labelling him. Nobody is a label. The fact that I was born in Brazil doesn’t mean I correspond to the image you have of Brazilians. The fact of being a woman doesn't force me to act in a certain way. And so many other things. Perhaps there are also Muslims who eat pork, as I know from Indians who eat beef. According to one of them, the cow is a sacred animal in India for adherents of a certain religion, but India has many religions and those who follow other beliefs, living outside the country, can eat beef. But don't take this as a general rule if you're expecting Indians for dinner, please! We are talking about listening and dialoguing. Start practicing.

As with the situation I experienced with the Muslim, both sides must be open to dialogue. If she hadn't answered me, I might still be today not knowing what was bothering her. It's not the hardest thing in the world to pinpoint your limits. And stop creating conspiracy theories by reading strangers' texts and taking it personally.

Take care of your emotions before trying to be a nomad. And even if you don't want to be a nomad.

🇧🇷 Vantagens de saber dialogar

Uma das qualidades necessárias aos nômades, que facilita o processo de adaptação, e que deve ser uma qualidade cultivada por qualquer ser humano na era da Internet, é saber dialogar.

Pensando nisso, me lembrei de uma situação que vivi no final do século passado.

Ainda estudava inglês, morava na segunda cidade da minha história nômade, tinha uns 21 anos e usava o mIRC (dinossauros vão entender, mas na época era algo como o WhatsApp hoje). Fiz amizade com uma garota muçulmana de um país que não lembro em um canal (grupo) sobre Londres. Um dia a garota me perguntou qual era a comida típica brasileira. Não tinha inglês suficiente para explicar que o Brasil é um país com dimensões continentais e cada região tem diferentes comidas típicas. Eu escolhi o caminho mais fácil. “A comida típica mais famosa do Brasil é a feijoada” (falei o nome em português, o resto em inglês) “que é um prato feito com pedaços de porco e feijão”.

Talvez alguns de vocês que são ou têm amigos muçulmanos possam imaginar a reação da garota.  😅

Silêncio total.

E o silêncio durou muito tempo.

Quando o silêncio foi muito mais longo do que o normal, perguntei o que havia acontecido.

Então ela respondeu que os muçulmanos não comem carne de porco. E também explicou detalhadamente o motivo, mas foi no século passado, não me lembro. Lembro-me o suficiente para não cometer o erro de falar sobre carne de porco aos muçulmanos, muito menos de servir carne de porco para eles.

Acalmei a menina e disse que tem muitos pratos típicos por aqui e muitos deles não usam carne de porco. Expliquei também que não gosto de feijoada (o que é verdade). Devo ter citado o bobó de camarão que era meu prato preferido (até descobrir o acarajé). E a prosa mudou de rumo, saiu do ar aquela nuvem negra de “brasileiros hereges que comem porcos”.

O diálogo existe apenas quando as duas pessoas sabem escutar e estabelecer limites. Escutar é diferente de ouvir. Ouvir é perceber sons. Escutar é compreender. É conhecer o indivíduo e respeitá-lo como ser humano único, ao invés de rotulá-lo. Ninguém é um rótulo. O fato de eu ter nascido no Brasil não condiz com a imagem que você tem dos brasileiros. O fato de ser mulher não me obriga a agir de determinada maneira. E tantas outras coisas. Talvez haja também muçulmanos que comem carne de porco, como sei dos indianos que comem carne bovina. Segundo um deles, a vaca é um animal sagrado na Índia para os adeptos de uma determinada religião, mas a Índia tem muitas religiões e quem segue outras crenças, morando fora do país, pode comer carne bovina. Mas não tome isso como uma regra geral se você está esperando indianos para jantar, por favor! Estamos falando sobre escutar e dialogar. Comece a praticar.

Como aconteceu na situação que experimentei com a muçulmana, ambos os lados devem estar abertos ao diálogo. Se ela não tivesse me respondido, eu poderia estar até hoje sem saber o que a estava incomodando. Não é a coisa mais difícil do mundo apontar seus limites. E pare de criar teorias da conspiração lendo textos de estranhos e levando isso para o lado pessoal.

Cuide de suas emoções antes de tentar ser um nômade. E mesmo se você não quiser ser um nômade.

🇬🇧 The opportunities that entrepreneurship creates

Business models are changing and companies are going global. Some cities, especially small ones, offer advantages to those interested in opening businesses there, generating jobs and contributing to local economic growth. Others don't offer anything much, but if they have enough qualified labor for the type of company you want to start, they can be interesting because they have a lower cost of living and greater safety than big cities, for example.

Starting a business is an opportunity to move to another city or even a country and live in a part of the world that offers what you consider quality of life.

One of the reasons I encourage people to undertake in smaller cities is that, at least in Brazil, it is unusual for local governments to take action to generate jobs there, and many people, usually without qualifications, migrate to large cities, increasing the rates of violence in these places, because the competition for low-skilled jobs is much greater than in smaller cities. By the way, investing in educational institutions that aim to qualify the local population can be good business in many small Brazilian cities.

In other countries, the scenario can often be perfect to innovate or to work as a self-employed professional in creative activities that can connect to the world (through exports, for example).

As I said in another text, as governments do not always do all the best for the population, private initiative can make a difference, investing to create opportunities, qualify people, and, in doing so, increase the employability of people who don't even know what it is. It means, increasing safety in big cities and the quality of life for all. Running away from empty fads, a company can create a strong brand by adding real value to what it sells.

🇧🇷 As oportunidades que o empreendedorismo cria

Os modelos de negócio estão mudando e as empresas estão se tornando globais. Algumas cidades, principalmente as pequenas, oferecem vantagens àquelas pessoas interessadas em abrir empresas ali, gerar empregos e contribuir com o crescimento econômico local. Outras não oferecem nada de mais, mas se têm mão de obra qualificada o suficiente para o tipo de empresa que você quer iniciar podem ser interessantes por terem menor custo de vida e maior segurança que grandes metrópoles, por exemplo.

Iniciar um negócio é uma oportunidade de mudar de cidade ou até de país e viver em uma parte do mundo que ofereça o que você considera qualidade de vida.

Um dos motivos de eu encorajar pessoas a empreender em cidades menores é que, ao menos no Brasil, é incomum que os governantes locais tomem atitudes para gerar empregos ali, e muita gente, geralmente sem qualificação, migra para os grandes centros aumentando os índices de violência nestes locais, porque a concorrência por vagas de baixa qualificação é muito maior que em cidades menores. Por sinal, investir em instituições de ensino que visem qualificar a população local pode ser um bom negócio em muitas cidades brasileiras.  

Em outros países, muitas vezes o cenário pode ser perfeito para inovar ou para trabalhar como profissional autônomo em atividades criativas que possam se conectar ao mundo (através da exportação, por exemplo).

Como falei em outro texto, como nem sempre governos fazem o melhor para a população, a iniciativa privada pode fazer a diferença, investindo para criar oportunidades, qualificar pessoas, e, ao fazer isso, aumentar a empregabilidade de gente que nem sabe o que isso significa, aumentar a segurança nas grandes cidades e a qualidade de vida para todos. Fugindo de modismos vazios uma empresa pode criar uma marca forte por agregar valor real ao que produz.

🇬🇧 How to buy a puppy in Brazil

Having a 4-legged companion is always good when we like these companions and are willing to take care of them. Today there are tips on how to buy a dog in Brazil. In other posts I will share tips for buying and adopting dogs and cats in various countries. The basic tips are the same, varying the sites to be consulted and possibly specific norms for each country.

If it doesn't exist there, the race doesn't exist. No matter how cute that “Pomsky” is, he's an SRD (aka mutt). It's a trap! Only buy dogs within the breed standards and according to the other buying tips in this post.  If standards aren't important to you and you just want a cute dog, adopt them.
• In Brazil, CBKC has a ranking of breeders, where we can consult the best breeders of the breed of interest to us: https://cbkc.org/rankings. When looking at the list of the top 5 breeders for each breed you will see that some breeds don't even reach 5 breeders, and others have breeders with a very low score. Keep an eye!
• The CBKC website has no tips for those who want to buy a dog like the Finnish Kennel Club (text from yesterday). But it is worth considering as the breeder's obligations to deliver a healthy puppy, within the standards of the breed, vaccinated, microchipped, with a sales contract that includes guarantees to the buyer, to say the least.
• Talk to the breeder, ask questions. If he delivers puppies without all the vaccines and microchips, run away! A serious breeder will also want information about you, your experience with dogs, with that breed, etc. and will give you information that might even make you give up on the purchase, such as mentioning negative aspects of the breed's behaviour. I've already talked to Brazilian and foreign breeders and the most reliable ones are looking for the best tutors for their puppies.

Ter um companheiro de 4 patas é sempre bom quando gostamos dessas companhias e estamos dispostos a cuidar deles. Hoje tem dicas de como comprar um cachorro no Brasil. Em outros posts vou compartilhar dicas para compra e adoção de cães e gatos em vários países. As dicas básicas são as mesmas, variando os sites que devem ser consultados e eventualmente normas específicas de cada país.

Se você quer apenas um cachorro bonito, sem necessidade de uma raça específica, ou se não tem experiência com cães, adotar pode ser uma boa opção. Um cão adulto, embora possa ter alguns traumas, muitas vezes já tem um treinamento básico, que facilita bastante a vida de tutores inexperientes.

Só compre cães dentro dos padrões da raça e conforme as demais dicas para compra deste post. Se os padrões não forem importantes para você e você só quiser um cachorro bonito, adote.

Mas vale considerar como obrigações do criador entregar um filhote saudável, dentro dos padrões da raça, vacinado, microchipado, com contrato de venda que inclua garantias ao comprador, pra dizer o mínimo.
• Converse com o criador, faça perguntas. Se ele entregar filhotes sem todas as vacinas e microchip, fuja! Um criador sério também vai querer informações sobre você, sua experiência com cães, com aquela raça, etc e vai te dar informações que possam até mesmo te fazer desistir da compra, como mencionar aspectos negativos do comportamento da raça. Já conversei com criadores brasileiros e estrangeiros e os mais confiáveis procuram os melhores tutores para seus filhotes.

🇬🇧 How to buy a puppy in Finland

Having a 4-legged companion is always good when we like these companions and are willing to take care of them. Today there are tips on how to buy a dog in Finland. In other posts I will share tips for buying and adopting cats and dogs in various countries. The basic tips are the same, varying the sites to be consulted and possibly specific rules for each country.

If you just want a cute dog, there is no need for a specific breed, or if you have no experience with dogs, adoption may be a good option. An adult dog, even if it can have trauma, usually already has basic training, which makes life much easier for inexperienced guardians.

If you are a foreign national with no permanent residence or citizenship, avoid short-nosed dogs such as pugs, lhasa apso or bulldogs, as they are difficult to transport if you cannot renew your visa or decide to return to your home country.

• See the official breed standard. In Finnish or English, see the link in the next topic and you will see a PDF file of the breed standard when you choose it. If it doesn't exist there, the race doesn't exist. No matter how cute "Pomsky" is, it’s a mongrel. It's a trap! Only buy dogs within breed standards and according to the other buying advice in this post. If standards aren't important to you and you just want a cute dog, adopt it.
• Go to the Kennel Club website (https://jalostus.kennelliitto.fi/frmEtusivu.aspx - link to the site in English), choose the breed and on the next screen click on "Breeders" in the top right corner.  You will see that some have an asterisk (*) next to their name, which means they have a valid creator commitment.
• Read the tips on the Kennel Club website (https://www.kennelliitto.fi/en/dog-ownership in English) for those who are about to buy a dog in Finland.
• Talk to the breeder, ask questions. If he delivers puppies without all vaccines and microchips, run away! A serious breeder will also want information about you, your experience with dogs, with that breed, etc.
• Follow the guidelines on the Kennel Club website (topic C of this text).

Ter um companheiro de 4 patas é sempre bom quando gostamos dessas companhias e estamos dispostos a cuidar deles. Hoje tem dicas de como comprar um cachorro na Finlândia. Em outros posts vou compartilhar dicas para compra e adoção de cães e gatos em vários países. As dicas básicas são as mesmas, variando os sites que devem ser consultados e eventualmente normas específicas de cada país.

Se você quer apenas um cachorro bonito, sem necessidade de uma raça específica, ou se não tem experiência com cães, adotar pode ser uma boa opção. Um cão adulto, embora possa ter alguns traumas, geralmente já tem um treinamento básico, que facilita bastante a vida de tutores inexperientes.

Se você é um estrangeiro sem residência permanente ou cidadania, evite cães de focinho curto como pug, lhasa apso ou buldogues, pois é difícil viajar com eles, caso você não possa renovar o visto ou decida voltar para seu país de origem.

• Consulte o padrão oficial da raça. Em português você pode visitar o site do CBKC (Kennel Club do Brasil) e ir à página “Raças”, onde encontrará todas as raças e seus padrões. Em Finlandês ou inglês, veja o link no próximo tópico evai ver um arquivo em PDF com o padrão da raça ao escolhê-la. Se não existe lá, não existe a raça. Não importa o quão fofinho seja aquele “Pomsky”, ele é um SRD (vulgo vira-latas). É cilada! Só compre cães dentro dos padrões da raça e conforme as demais dicas para compra deste post. Se os padrões não forem importantes para você e você só quiser um cachorro bonito, adote.
• No Brasil, o CBKC tem um ranking de criadores, onde podemos consultar os melhores criadores da raça de nosso interesse. Na Finlândia, entre no site do Kennel Club de lá (https://jalostus.kennelliitto.fi/frmEtusivu.aspx - link para o site em inglês), escolha a raça e na próxima tela clique em “Breeders” no canto superior direito. Vai ver que alguns têm um asterisco (*) junto ao nome, que significa que eles têm um compromisso de criador válido.

O governo brasileiro aceita migrantes interessados em investir no Brasil para gerar emprego e renda.

O visto para investidores é válido por um ano e é oferecido a estrangeiros que representem instituição financeira ou grupo empresarial que realizará investimento direto em empresa estabelecida no Brasil. Também é possível para imigrantes que pretendam investir com recursos próprios de origem externa em empresa com um projeto com potencial de geração de emprego e renda no Brasil.

Os candidatos devem apresentar os seguintes documentos:

• Um passaporte válido com duas ou mais páginas em branco;
• Uma fotografia de 3,5x4,5cm, recente com fundo branco;
• O formulário de pedido de visto. Deve ser preenchido online e o requerente deve levar o Recibo do Formulário de Solicitação de Visto impresso e assinado para a entrevista;
• Verificação policial. Se o solicitante morou em mais de um país durante os últimos 12 meses, ele ou ela deve apresentar a verificação policial de cada país.
• Certidão de nascimento completa original.

O consulado pode solicitar outros documentos. Solicite informações atualizadas ao consulado brasileiro do país onde você mora.

O Brasil é um enorme mercado aberto a muitos produtos e serviços diferentes, desde baratos a luxuosos. Possui uma cultura rica, natureza inspiradora, povo amigável, impostos mais baixos do que muitos países e muitos outros bons motivos para se iniciar um negócio no país. É também uma boa oportunidade para você aprender português, um idioma que ninguém vinculado a uma rede social pode viver sem.

🇬🇧 Brazil for entrepreneurs

The Brazilian government accepts migrants interested in investing in Brazil to create jobs and income.

The visa for investors is valid for one year and it is offered for foreign citizens who will represent a financial institution or business group that will carry out direct investment in a company established in Brazil. It is also possible for immigrants intending to invest with his own resources of external origins to invest in a legal entity in Brazil in a project with potential to generate jobs and income in Brazil.

Applicants must present the following documents:

• A valid passport with two or more blank pages;
• A 3.5x4.5cm photograph, recent with a white background;
• The Visa application form. It must be filled online and the applicant must bring the Visa Request Form Receipt printed and signed to the appointment;
• Police check. If the applicant lived in more than one country during the last 12 months he or she must present the police check from each country.
• Original full birth certificate.

I recommend if you’re an individual interested in starting a business in Brazil you create a good business plan. Brazil is an enormous market open to many different products and services from cheap to luxury. 🇬🇧 First steps to start your business abroad

We often have a business idea, but that idea cannot be implemented in the city or country where we live, either because it is not something that local people value and consume, or because of a lack of qualified labor or any other reason. Sometimes we feel an affinity for the culture of another country and would like to establish a business there, create ties with that country and adapt the business model as you get to know the local culture.

This goal is possible for both, entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals, and although the minimum investment required by some countries is high, others have very friendly conditions and even offer citizenship to entrepreneurs with a shorter minimum stay period than for other types of visa.

What are the first steps?

You can start with the business idea or the place (city or country) of destination. If you start with the location, do a lot of research on the culture of that place and assess the points that may be cultural clashes, affinities, the climate and other factors that can affect your adaptation to the location. Then research what might be interesting in that country, so that you can create a profitable business around it and have qualified labor there to work with you.

If you have the idea and have not defined the place, the next step is to study some countries where this idea might be viable. Studying the markets of these countries will be your next step. If you don't have the idea, nor have you defined the country, ask yourself what do you know how to do very well and that can become a profitable business? Experience in business management can be helpful. Or capital available to pay for the work of competent professionals to guide you.
