🇬🇧 11 movies with central LGBT+ characters you should know

3. To Wong Foo ... Thanks for everything!  Julie Newmar. 1995 film. Drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) and Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) impress judges in a regional competition, securing seats on the Los Angeles national stage. When the two meet the pathetic transvestite Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Alberto Leguizamo), one of the losers of the night, the charming Vida and Noxeema decide to help the poor girl. The three begin a journey across America and try to get to Los Angeles on time.


4. Wilde. 1997 film. After Wilde's lawsuit against the furious Marquis of Queensberry, Bosie's father, for defamation, Wilde faces an upheaval and, refusing to flee the country, is sentenced to two years of hard labor by a bigoted court. Wilde has a good relationship with his wife, which is obviously on the decline as his relationships with boys, especially Bosie, intensify. With Stephen Fry, Jude Law and Orlando Bloom in the cast.


5. Gia. From 98 with Angelina Jolie in the main role. Gia Carangi leaves Philadelphia and moves to New York to become a model and immediately catches the attention of the powerful agent Wilhelmina Cooper. Her attitude and her beauty help her quickly rise to the fore of the fashion industry, but her persistent loneliness prompts her to try drugs like cocaine. She becomes involved in a love affair with Linda, a makeup artist.  However, after a while Linda begins to worry about Gia's drug use and gives her an ultimatum. Gia chooses the drug. The failed attempts at reconciliation with Linda and her mother Kathleen lead Gia to abuse heroin. But after finally ending her addiction after much effort, she contracts the AIDS virus from a needle containing contaminated blood and dies of AIDS complications in 86, age 26.


6. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. From 1994. Two drag queens, Anthony / Mitzi and Adam / Felicia, and a transsexual, Bernadette, are hired to perform in a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort town in the remote Australian desert. They travel aboard their bus, Priscilla.  Along the way they discover that the woman who hired them is Anthony's wife.  The bus breaks down and is repaired by Bob, who starts traveling with them.


7. Threesome. Movie launched in 1994. Due to a computer error, a young woman is taken to the male dormitory of the university, where she will share a room with two guys and together they will form an unexpected love triangle, thus begins the story of Eddy, Alex and Stuart. Sensual and romantic story involving three students who become more than just roommates and good friends. Aspiring actress Alex brings a change in Stuart and Eddy's sex life. Stuart quickly tries to seduce her, but discovers that she is genuinely interested in her friend Eddy. But Eddy has desires that even he is not aware of, which turns into a real mess, and they live a bisexual romance where three is not too many.
