🇬🇧 The power of the right lingerie for women

Someone asked me what my favourite piece of clothing is. I like different and exclusive clothes, a good part of my wardrobe is my creations, and I've always paid a lot of attention to lingerie too. And this text is about that and about the relationship between my attention to lingerie and boudoir photography and, in some cases, my work as a stylist.

I'm Nycka, a stylist specialised in colours, shapes and textures as non-verbal communication tools, and I also use this knowledge working as a photographer and visual artist. In this text I will talk about the power of the right lingerie for women.

When I moved to the south of Brazil it was difficult to find colourful clothes, because people in the region prefer neutral colours. Although the image of Brazil abroad is of a tropical, sunny country, the south is south of the Tropic of Capricorn and the climate in the region has colder winters than in the rest of the country. In high regions such as the Serra Gaúcha or the city of Curitiba, the summer has milder temperatures and the winter can have negative temperatures, but snow is a rare phenomenon, and when it happens it is usually for a short time, it does not create those common images we see in Christmas movies produced in the United States.

As I like colour, the lack of new colourful clothes made me direct my attention towards lingerie, to feel myself even without being able to have a good variety of colours available in my wardrobe. Although I know how to create and make clothes, in Porto Alegre I didn't have the means to make them and in Curitiba the chromatic monotony included the colour options in fabric stores. In my work as a stylist, especially when assisting women whose marriages were cooling down or those with low self-esteem, renewing lingerie stock is an important part of the job to help the client see herself as someone more attractive, because with the right lingerie this it gets easier.

Knowing what to wear for each situation to feel beautiful and comfortable and to make the desired impression is important to feel safe and able to strengthen our self-esteem. In a boudoir shoot, it is perhaps even more important. There aren't many photographers who are stylists and certainly none with the same repertoire as me.
