The Dolce & Gabbana men's collection for fall/winter 23/24 had a colour palette limited to black, white and light shades of brown.
The models of the pants brought a variety of options, tending towards less ample cuts than the shows I reviewed earlier.
Every time I see long sleeves that are a little shorter than they should be, I remember a scene from a film about Chanel in which the designer is adjusting the sleeves of a suit just before the show. Yeah... all brands could make the sleeves longer and adjust them to the arm length of each model or each customer. If you buy without proper professional guidance, you run the risk of purchasing less than elegant pieces.
The brand brings cropped tops from women's wardrobe to men's and also under bust bodices. Wide belts, marking the waist are also part of the collection. Transparencies, deep necklines, lace, embroidery and sequins are also present, in addition to waisted cuts. And many pieces of conventional cuts. These, especially those with the brand's name stamped on them, are unnecessary for any man who wants to develop his style, even the most shy ones. There are smarter ways.
The brand seems to want to please different generations at the same time, without a defined target audience. There are clothes for the teenager who just wants to blend in with his peers, for the 30 or 40 year old man who takes care of his body and mind, for the 70 year old man or older who wants to distance himself from innovation. If these men belonged to the same family would live far away from each other. Chaos.
I always say that style doesn't accept labels. It's about the personality of the wearer. And nobody who is mentally healthy is conservative in the morning, trendy in the afternoon, and slovenly in the evening.
