Today I'd like to talk about creating careers for today's kids, the professionals of the future. Mostly for girls. Some countries have a culture of striving for gender equality, but even in them some of the ideas I'm going to present here may not be being applied yet.
It may not seem like it, but this also concerns your professional life. I advocate that we should work with something we like. I already talked about this in another text. And turning a childhood dream into reality is still possible for many adults today. In some cases, time has passed, as for those who dreamed of being dancers or sportsmen. Usually these are careers that people start very young. But it is possible to approach the dream.

I'll start by talking about women's football (soccer in the USA), and the inclusion of women in sports traditionally played by men. Football in some countries is a sport with high visibility and millionaire salaries for the best players on men's teams. Yet even in Brazil, where football is a national passion, many parents do not encourage their children to live the dream of being professional football players. Women's football has neither the visibility nor the salaries of men and certainly girls are less encouraged to play this sport professionally than boys. I think it's important that clubs broadcast the games of their women's teams. It would be wonderful if they broadcast live on their social media channels that allow video streaming. The more easy visibility, without the need to subscribe to sports channels on TV, the better for the girls of today, the stars of the future.
This logic also works for other sports, for men's football in countries where football is not a valued sport, for professions linked to art and for the professions of the future, which we can't even imagine today. Without you being an audience for today's professionals in these careers, you will hardly be able to encourage a child to follow the path that he believes is the best. In a world where robots and machines already occupy what were once jobs, it is necessary to be attentive, open to changes and allow children and young people to make their own choices without thinking that they will be failures if they choose to follow an unconventional path.
Career choice is not immutable. If at some point the person sees that it is not what he wants from then on, it is possible to change. If you want to change today, it is possible. In some cases a transition period for successful repositioning is helpful, but change is always possible. We have no reason to remain in circumstances we don't like.
