Italian visas are divided into 3 types, which are:
- Type A, for airport transit.
- Type C, in the case of a short stay (valid for up to 90 days).
- Type D, for long-term stay (over 90 days).
Some long-term visas, such as self-employment, allow you to stay in the country for up to 2 years, which can be renewed and, after 5 years, you can apply to stay in the country, as it happens in other European countries.
