Time to talk about Versace. The brand's show took place in Los Angeles, in an open space, and the temperature when the show ended was 14° C, which may explain the expression of discomfort on some models.
The colour palette was the most colourful of the shows I've seen so far, having at least one shade of almost every colour. And many pieces with the main colour not being neutral. There was too much black, but too many pieces of colour.
About cuts and assembly of the clothes, I noticed many clothes with a design similar to that presented in other fashion shows (“trends” for the late majority). And some ordinary design pieces, which any beginner pattern maker is capable of making. I also noticed flaws in more elaborate pieces, like a dress with a structured top where each side of the structure that covered the breasts was at a different height, leaving the result worthy of a cubist painting. The brand didn't present anything super innovative, but it also brought interesting options for those, like me, who don't want to wear black, white, brown and grey in winter.
Would I wear pieces from this collection? Yes. The men's collection also has interesting pieces. I particularly liked the black men's skirt and few men's pieces besides it caught my attention.
I am publishing this text shortly after the end of the show, so for more details, to know which pieces from the collection would flatter your style, and other personalised style guidelines, including more detailed information about the fit of the pieces, hire my style consultancy following the guidelines on the “Services available” page.
Sponsorships from companies with a profile aligned with my work (luxury brands, inside and outside the fashion industry) are also welcome.
