🇬🇧 More experiences with bands

I will talk more about the bands I met. In general I knew nothing or almost nothing about the musicians in the bands I am going to talk about today, although I knew several songs from almost all bands, except Kreator and Evergrey. Kreator I heard a song or two before the show. Even today, Phobia is part of my playlists. On all occasions I was with some friends, because it is much more practical when you have at least two people, so that one can make the photos for the other. At that time, without the option of selfies with cell phones, this was necessary.

On one occasion during 2005 Tristania and Kreator played in Porto Alegre on the same night and I had the opportunity to meet the members of both bands. The Kreator we found at the airport. They were very friendly. So we went to the hotel to see Tristania. Vibeke, who was the band's vocalist at the time, grudgingly took photos. Both shows were very good.

Another night, also in 2005, I went to a Pain of Salvation concert, with an opening by Evergrey, which I didn't know. The venue was less crowded than usual, and during the Pain of Salvation concert, some friends and I saw Evergrey's musicians in the audience and went to talk to them and take pictures. They are very friendly. In 2011 I went to another Evergrey show, this time as the main band in Curitiba and once again I spoke with the musicians. The formation of the band had changed and only two of them were from the previous formation. Both are still in the band today.

I also found Hammerfall! We went to the hotel in 2005 in Porto Alegre and they were very nice to us. I really like the band's music.

Finally, After Forever. Also in 2005 we went to the airport to see the band before the show. There was a security guard beside Floor Jansen, who is now Nightwish's vocalist, repeating to everyone "don't touch her". I thought it would be a bad experience, but when I asked her to sign the trousers I was wearing, she got down on her knees and signed. The other band members also signed, without kneeling. Only the autograph of Bas Maas was missing, which I totally lost myself in the middle of so many people and when I saw him he was already far away. But there will be plenty of opportunities for that in the future. The band broke up, but he currently plays with the wonderful Doro Pesch, who I haven't seen in person.

There are few artists that I try to know a little about their personal life or follow their personal profiles on social networks. But this part of having the opportunity to speak with musicians from bands that I admire is something that I really like, especially when they are really friendly, and not merely professionals. Lately I've been looking to know more about a few bands, being able to spend hours watching videos of their interviews or reading about the band and its members. In the future maybe I will decide to interview some of these bands here on the blog and on my social networks.

Which bands have you had the opportunity to meet and which ones would you like to see in person?
