🇬🇧 How to adapt to a new city or country

How can we adapt to a new city or a new country?

When we move we plan this. I think it’s easy to adapt (for me it’s very easy) because we have some time to study the place and consider pros and cons, and even to properly choose if what that place offers is interesting for us, if we’re prepared to climatical differences, etc.

These are some points to observe before to move to another city or another country:

  • Weather. Are you ready to live in a place much colder or much hotter than where you are? Or a place where it rains a lot or where, during some months, it’s dark most of the time and some other months are sunny all the time?
  • Food. If you know how to cook this is not a serious problem. If you go to Asia or Africa being from the Americas, Oceania or Europe you can find some problems to adapt, mainly if you depend on restaurants.
  • Language. If you’re reading this post I suppose you speak english and so you’re able to survive anywhere, but to know the local language is useful.
  • Geologic problems like hurricanes and earthquakes. If you didn’t have this kind of experience, are you willing to have them?
  • Culture. People are different. If you’re accustomed with the same kind of friends all life maybe you won’t survive in another place.

Are you prepared?
