I read the books about the young wizard before to watch the movies. These movies were able to be faithful to the books (with some exceptions), but, anyway, the books are better than the movies.
A point that helped me to love the story- as it happened to my relationship with some stories for children - is that the books, through fantasy, talk about reality. Not everyone develop “magic” abilities. Not everyone break the limits of mediocrity. Some common people are happy with their profiles and respect diversity, as it happens to Hermione’s parents. Other ones create barriers to their own development. Some people born in families of wizards don’t manifest their potential and suffer.
Harry Potter’s story is a poetic image of a society where differences are more on choices than in any other thing. It’s the way we face the challenges that matter.
