🇬🇧 Mao's last dancer

I usually consider the books better than movies. This case, the movie is based on the biography of Li Cunxin. I watched the movie more than twice and still didn't read the book. I have no doubt it's an interesting book. But, let's write about what I know.
First time I watched this movie was on TV. The story is impressing. Being a communications professional, it's interesting to observe that Mao used a very old trick to control the mind of Chinese people, in a way they believed USA was miserable and that miserable life Chinese people had was marvellous. There is an interesting scene when the Chinese dancers are with a group of north american dancers in the Great Wall and a Chinese says all american look alike. It's one among many that reflects the Chinese mindset.
Cunxin was lucky to have and embrace the opportunity to study abroad and see his reality from a different point of view. He was lucky since he was a kid and was chosen to become a dancer instead of follow the career his deluded soul wanted. This, some buddhists, in special from the Soka Gakkai International, call to be a Buddha from the three existences (past, present and future). Then, Cunxin made his choice as an adult that had seen the reality from different angles and paid the price to achieve the chosen result. Was he successful? Watch and see. The movie is inspiring.
