I have already commented in previous texts about autumn/winter 23/24 collections, and I will comment in others about the lack of creativity of fashion brands by investing heavily in shades of grey, brown, black and white and also in the ordinary cuts (the ones any beginner pattern maker can make) of many clothes. In this text, I give people - and the brands that create fashion - five reasons to avoid clothes in these colours and many simple design pieces, which any beginner pattern maker is capable of doing. All the reasons are valid for men and women.
- Colours and shapes are non-verbal communication tools and communication gets richer if you have a variety of colours and shapes in your wardrobe and know how to use them with purpose.
- Clothes usually get more attention than accessories. Your main message should be on the clothes. And I'm not talking about quotes on T-shirts.
- The less self-knowledge and less understanding about style a person has, the more they wear neutral colours and clothes that "don't go out of style" seeking to "not make mistakes". Neutral colours and simple designs scream the insecurity of those who can't or don't want to have my style consultancy as a guide to develop their personal style.
- What confident people want is to value their best qualities, what makes them unique. And by wearing what everyone else wears you are going the opposite way, showing that you are an ordinary person.
- Clothes with ordinary design can be easily copied by cheap brands and worn by people who have no real knowledge of style. Those who have such knowledge do not want to look like those who do not.
I know that, with the excess of clothes with these characteristics that brands produce in autumn/winter, it is difficult to avoid them. But it is possible. Meet my work. I'm a style consultant and I emphasise the power of colours and shapes as non-verbal communication tools in building a personal style that values your best qualities. Because the worst ones you emphasise every day for not having my personalised guidance. Schedule a meeting with me to start the styling consultation process by following the instructions on the “Services Available” page.
Fashion, beauty and jewellery brands, as well as hotels, restaurants, and other companies, are welcome to sponsor my work.
