It sounds an idiot question. Considering common sense, it is. But I ask you, then: can we consider communication when someone sends a message but the receptor refuses it or does not understand it?
Imagine someone own a business called MondoCane, an online shop, and, using WeChat, this person sends a bottle with the message:
"Tutti i nostri prodotti con cinquecento per cento di sconto per te nelle compre in nostro site ufficiale con il codice ScontoWechat. Solo nella sua prima compra.
MondoCane punto com".
Imagine the person who takes the bottle is a Chinese and does not speak italian. Considering maybe you, my reader, don't speak italian, the message says:
"All our products with 50% off for you in our official website with the code ScontoWechat. Only for your first time shopping.
MondoCane.com"
The business owner had a great opportunity to gain a new buyer. The intention was good, but, with the Chinese, the result was zero as the intercommunication was zero.
It's possible a portuguese speaker or spanish speaker, even if does not speak italian would understand the message. It's possible the business owner wanted to communicate only with italians. Anyway, there were zero communication between the store and the Chinese receptor.
Now imagine you send a letter or a birthday gift for a friend through post office. But you write the wrong address, or the friend is not living there and the receptor have no idea about who your friend is.
Once more, zero communication.
Imagine a 3rd example. This friend you sent the letter to is an old friend from high school. You loved this person secretly and 10 years later you decide to tell the friend about your love through that letter. But the friend is married now and the wife or husband is who receives the letter, read it and burn it! Did you really communicate your love for your friend?
That's all for now.
